A braggart, coward and a liar. Capitano, often a Spanish mercenary, is a descendent of the Miles Gloriosus in Roman comedy. He is given to extreme exaggeration of his conquests (military and amorous) talking himself into scrapes and duels which lead to an inevitable humiliating climb down or beating.
