We designed Neutral Tone masks to give maximum flexibility when working with groups of mixed ethnicity so that all performers are able to use all the masks. They don’t represent any specific skin tone. Indeed they represent the absence of skin tone.
We find that a lot of teachers and practitioners prefer to use Neutral Tone masks for workshop and classroom work because of the freedom they provide.
However, please be aware that Neutral Tone masks don’t quite live in the same theatrical reality as the Light, Mid and Dark Skin Tone masks and can appear almost ‘ghostly’ if used along side them.
